Newbie to Aprilias and just got a Caponord 1000

Hi
Just a quick hello and a wee bit about ma new baby, a had to get a comfy bike due to shoulder problems and the capo always intrigued me, so after a few months of persuading a mate to part with his I am now the proud owner of a 2003 ETV 1000 and am loving it, first jaunt was a 200 mile trip that covered most of central Scotland and covered every type of road and what a grin a had at the end and even embarrassed ma mate on his gs here's to many happy miles on her.
Cheers
Craig

Thumbs up A new Caponordista

About two weeks ago I had a "fling" with a Caponord. I fell in love immediately. Tomorrow morning I will pick up my new Capo (which incidentally means Boss in Italian ... what a coincidence...) and begin my new adventure.

I feel bad for the Suzuki V-Strom DL 1000 that I will leave behind tomorrow. She has served my well for over $25,000 miles in the short 2 years of our affair.

I am sure she will find a loving partner who will care about and for her as much as I did.

The Capo will be my 7th bike (in several decades of riding) and only the second Italian-made. If my calculations are correct, I am approaching the half-a-million mile mark on two wheels. I plan to reach a million before I have to add a third wheel. As it was said, the plan is to die young as late as possible.

Thumbs up Hello From Australia

G'day guys, you might have to forgive the forum members cause they all have Caponord 1200's not the earlier ETV1000. There is probably a forum here or in the AF1 (2014-2016 Caponord) site which will cover the ETV version.

Also, I recall reading a magazine that stated Caponord was 'North Cape', but I don't speak Italian....

Anyway, welcome to the forum! They are great bikes!

Yes Brisbanord your right again. Caponord was made from a Swedish word Nordkapp meaning north cape. It is the most northern part of Europe in Sweden. A large Plato ending with a 300m high cliff face. It is very popular with tourists and is considered one of the worlds best touring destinations. I have the multimedia system on the caponord and one of it features is the total distance to Nordkapp from current position. Some 14000kms from here in Melbourne.
