Iíve only just bought my first Aprilia; a Capo 1200 TP & absolutely love it! I canít understand why Aprilia have abandoned it in Europe. Marketing it as an Adventure bike instead of Tall Sports Tourer perhaps. I doubt youíll regret buying one though.

Welcome.

I am sure you will enjoy it.
I have put 20,000 miles on mine and love it.
It is getting hot here now so we do not ride as often.

I too loved my Capo12TP and clocked up 39,000kms before the new Aussie importer wrecked the dealership network in favour of a much smaller network of inexperienced dealerships.

I jumped ship to KTM when the Aussie network failed to honour my warranty and I spent my own money on a coil rewind (fixed in 2weeks), rather than wait 2 months for the promise of a new part from the Aprilia factory if I towed my Capo across the city to the new dealer with no tools or staff schooling!

What a great bike though! Good looks, great suspension, fab fuel range, comfort and fully equipped from standard (my Kato doesn't have a centre stand...... but it does have insane engine power...).

Cheers all.

bought a secondhand capo 20131200 with TP.
fantastic bike only had a few months.
I would recommend to leave the exhast alone if you like lower down grunt of the twin.
I have discovered that Aprilia makes things interesting for oil changes as well.

Very happy with the bike.

cheers

Cheers white noise from Aus,

From memory the 2013 Capo12's had a slightly longer spin on oil filter which fouled the piping in front.

I think the later models (mine was a 2014 build) had a shorter filter that would spin off easily......... here's a tip I picked from the Apriia mechanics........ fill the spin on filter with new cold oil (I used 15w50 semi syn) before installing........I know what you're saying.....I thought it would spill out too when turned horizontal......... but it didn't .......

Sadly I was seduced from my RED bike affair by a racy little Orange number but at least I enjoyed two years (and 39,000kms) on the Capo12TP...
