Sorry mate, this is the Caponord 1200 MY2013 owners forum and the guys most probably wouldn't know what an ETV1000 is.....I do, but can't assist.

G'day slow rider, sorry, been hanging around the 2014-2016 forum and just popped over for a look.

I've got 29,430kms on my Travel Pack 1200 which is a 2014 model that I bought new in 2015. It has been great!

BUT, you will have to run the bugger in fully to get the best from them. It will take up to 15,000kms to free that new engine up and for it to reduce/stop using oil. You must demand semi synthetic oil at the warranty 1000km service unless you are a race track maniac, otherwise your motor will never wear enough to seal up and stop using oil. (Motul 5100 10w or 15w50 every 5,000kms will be fine).

My Capo has been a great bike - though others have had some haunting experiences, I have not had any problems - but when the bike was new I did the usual checks for loose bolts greased wheel bearings etc that a new bike of any brand requires.

Oh,... take heart - that jumpy/edgy throttle will begin to settle at 6,000kms and by 12,000kms you will have almost forgotten about it. You cannot hurt the engine and will do it good to twist that wrist as much as you can to help bed the motor in asap.

Cheers from AUS

ps the gearing is way to tall, so most owners change sprockets to either 16/42, 17/46 (or 17/44 if you do mostly high speed highways an only some city riding).....the standard 17/42 gearing is just too hard to control around town! And.....keep that chain tension at 25mm cold as per the book.......it helps with smoothness as a looser chain generates a whiplash that adds to the edgy throttle and makes life below 4,000rpm a pain when new.
