I Ride: Aprilia Caponord
Question What was your first Aprilia motorcycle?

As we wait for the new Aprilia Caponord... for those planning on getting one, will this be your first Aprilia?

What was your first Aprilia motorcycle?

oh ... an tae answer the thread question....first Aprilia was 2004 RSV-R when they first came oot.

Fantastic bike but the one ah had had a few wee niggles wi the dash and ECU so ah got rid of it. Shame really as it was a great handling bike and equally important wasnt a blue white GIXER clone ;o)

I Ride: Caponord 1200 touring (but I kept my CBR1100XX - to good to part with)
G'day Dynodoug......hope your new Caponord arrives safe and sound (and properly pre-delivered). Hop over onto the 'other' Caponord forum (the 2014-2016 AF1 sponsored site) and read up on a few things to look out for with a new bike........(eg pannier lock adjustment, loctite any loose screws in first 1000kms etc).

I've got 23,200kms on mine today and it is a great bike...though some owners have either been unlucky, or may have caused some problems - in any case, the forum is a fantastic source of information that you can use to your advantage! we all learn from our mistakes, and the forum allows us to learn from others before we make the same 'oops'.....

Also there are many extras that have been tried and tested so read on and enjoy the journey...

I Ride: Caponord Rally Raid
waiting to pick up my first. a 2016 caponord rally raid in Champagne ( not grey!)

Funny really as i've done all of the Japanese top four, and Ducati. The capo follows a three in a row list of Hondas.

I Ride: 2016 Caponord - what else?
Caponord and Futura

Just got a Caponord. Had a Futura many years ago in the days when Aprilia parts were a very hit and miss affair. They don't seem to have improved that much - a set of front pads under warranty took 2 months. I paid for EBC pads to get the bike back on the road but they didn't know it wasn't still in the dealers. I ordered the correct panniers for the Futura, owned it for 18 months and the dealer announced the panniers had arrived 2 weeks after I sold it! Nevertheless, I liked the bike. Apparently they were not very popular due to the styling which is now completely mainstream. They were just ahead of their time.

I had a 2012 Dorsoduro 1200 prior to my 2016 Caponord Rally. Machines are almost identical. Dorso was a bit more savage, but the Capo can be modded to be a great performer. It does everything the Dorso did with more comfort, range and capacity. Don't regret it, but wish I could have kept the Dorso as it was a really fun bike.
