Lights

Hi, just posted on another part of the forum, got it wrong again. I need help getting into the main beam so that I can change the bulb and also any tips on how I can keep the side lights on permanently. Im very impressed with everything about the Caponord, so far, with the exception of the main beam headlight. If anyone can point me at a useful website or has any information id Really appreciate their help. Thanks
Brian

G'day Brian,

Over on the more active 2014-2017 Capo12 forum, there are many posts about lighting.

One solution was to insert a diode into the wiring in the left switch block - this allows the low beam lamps to stay on when you switch to high beam. I'll try to find the page.

Also, many fit Hepco & Becker crash bars and attach extra driving (LED) lamps instead of stronger halogen bulbs. The reflector lens inside Capo's tripple headamp is made of plastic and the chrome will burn off under the two low beam lamps in time. Mine were down to grey plastic when I noticed this at approx 25-30,000kms...... I slipped some shiny chrome looking adhesive tape in to fix it.

Don't bother with LED conversion bulbs as the reflector lens is not designed for them.

I think most opted for the boosted halogen bulbs.... 50% or more, brighter than stock H11 bulbs and with extra LED driving lamps on the crash bars they had really good night vision.

Off to the 2014-17 and back soon with a page reference......

Righto..... that was quick..... I'm just getting the advanced search working for me and I sold my Caponord 2 yrs ago.......

Google 'Caponord 1200 forum' and select 2014-2017 Capo....... forum.

Have a go at the search function or just scroll down looking for both these threads...... "Caponord 1200 headlight switch removal" (index page 12) and "Headlight Uprate ?" (page 2 of index list).

They are from very competent and trustworthy owners and show what you need to do to get all three lamps on at high beam. Also they discuss bulbs and I just spotted that they had recently found a very good LED conversion bulb if you are interested. I think these guys are still on the forum so you could send them a private messge for more info..... or just post a reply and bring the topic back to the top of the list and see who responds.

Cheers from down under

Here's the image from the headlight switch removal thread showing the diode mod to keep low beams on when using high beam;

BrisbaNord,
Thanks for the info, really appreciate your time and effort. I will have a look on the other site as you suggest. I’ve only just realised there was a response, thanks again.
