Question Breaks Sound

Good morning all

Does somebody else have a problem with squicking sound from the breaks?
I bought a second hand Caponord travel pack with 5000km, and its great the only thing what I am concern is when i brake harder I hear the squicking noise from front breaks.
When I ask owner he said that is a coman problem with this bikes but i nowhere find that somebody is talking about it.
I drive Aprila motorbikes for quite some time and so far I didn't have this problem.
Many thanks if somebody have some advice or the same problem in the past.

Hello Marko. Maybe you could ask a Ducati owner about squeaking brakes....they make all sorts of horrible noises. I don't know what mechanics do to solve the problem, but they might be able to tell you why brembo brakes squeak when all other brakes work quietly.

I haven't noticed mine (014 Touring) making noises, so maybe your Capo needs some servicing? Maybe a change to another brake pad brand might solve the issue? I have only 3,200 km's on my Capo, so I might be asking the same question soon! Cheers.

G'day again Marco, as I predicted in April, my brakes also make a sort of a groaning sound especially when I just use the front brake at slow speed at the traffic lights. I'd say it is a normal noise caused by pad material. I have heard this noise on previous bikes and it disappeared as brake pads wore down and were changed. Anyway, nothing to worry about - just use both brakes.....or ride harder so you have to brake harder..

Modern bikes tend to all use harder pads now. This sets up all the ingredients for noisy brakes. The harmonics on your callipers is quite a fine tune.

I used to own a KTM that was exactly the same. Changed pads to a softer compound and the squeaking went away. The only issue with this was that the pads wore out faster.

Also, keeping callipers clean can help. Or a smearing of red rubber grease between the brake piston and the anti-rattle plate. Usually the squeaking is pad related and not a mechanical issue.
