very good machine, dont regret buying it |
Hi picked my new caponord this morning , part ex tuono v4 , I can say with no regrets at all , after 60 mile no chicken strips left the suspension is that good , just inspires confidence , over all the bike is amazing . |
the chicken strips...... it the form of the tire.... everyone loses the chicken strips on the OEM reartire of a capo 1200 |

Congratulations |
the cap needs a 190-55 rear, stock tyre is too small |
The workshop manual specifies both 180 and 190 width rear tyres depending on some other model details that I can't make head nor tail of. Obviously a 190 is not a problem. I too discovered that the full width of the tyre is easy to use though I don't believe I was leaning that far. The question that obviously arises - what happens when you really lean it? |
Great bike... horrendous after sales.. I will NEVER buy another Aprilia! |

You fall off the edge of the tyre and scrape the centre stand/footpegs or crash;) Easy solution that works really well (I had my Capo12TP for two years and 39,000kms) is to use the 190/55 size rear and also fit the 16 tooth front sprocket to fix the tall gearing in traffic issue. That tyre profile and width will give you plenty more corner clearance - in fact I went from using all of the oem tyre to having :o small chicken strips on the 190/55........ and it corrected the speedo error from 7% to 4%. (don't even bother to think 190/50 profile..... it is worse than the oem size). The original 2013 specs stated 190/55 rear, then Aprilia changed to 180/55 stretched over that 6" rim thereby creating very limited corner clearance and woefully inaccurate speedo. It was probably done to lower the ride height but I had my seat cut down by 20mm and it was fabulous (no more tippy toes). Best wishes from Aussie........ I went to the dark side (KTM) but loved my time on the Capo12........:D |
